State of California Takes a Sharp Left Turn And Falls Off The Cliff
Source: Human Events.  Editor's note: While the rest of the country made a right turn for smaller government and fiscal responsibilty, the State of California took a hard turn left,  now just one last short step away from the cliff's edge. Some may say that the State of California went over the edge, which is this Editor's opinion.   With the election of Jerry Brown, the 72 year old  former Governor from the 1970s who is the grandfather of the State's disasterous road to fiscal disaster, to the outrageous election of an extreme far-left City of San Franscisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom, the State of the Union for California is on course for full fiscal disaster.  Jerry Brown is best known for this opposition to Proposition 13, which prohibits, year after year of unreasonable property tax increases for property owners; and Brown is very well known for signing a 1978 bill, allowing public-sector workers to unionize. Today, these same unions funded Brown's recent campaign and own nearly every elected official in California.  What is even more insane is that the Lt Governor elect, Gavin Newson, is just one heart beat away from being the Governor of California, should the 72 year old Governor elect Jerry Brown step aside due to health issues or death.  Gavin Newson, along with his newly elected State Attorney General, Kamala Harris, are best known for their illegal alien santuary city policies, including those using City funding to provide "group home" residential services to illegal alien youths with violent criminal records.  One of Newson and Harris's protected illegal alien youths, made headline news, when  Edwin Ramos , a 21 year old illegal alien from Salvadoran with a very long violent criminal rap sheet , brutually murdered the Bologna family (father and 2 sons). More on this story can be found: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/jul/28/san-franciscos-sanctuary-nightmare/ .  But it would seem that the liberal far-left voters in California, have very short memories, or just dont give a flip about the track records of their beloved far-left liberal democrat candidates.  I wonder what is in store, with Newson and Harris's legal agenda for the residents of California, perhaps, a 10 cent per cigarrete butt tax, outlawing pet shops, sodas with sugar, and happy meals; legalizng pot and prostitution, and iilegal alien sanctuary status throughout the State, and/or an expanded ban on firearms ownership for all residents?   Next lets review one of the major propositions that was passed.  Proposition 25 was passed, giving the State Legislature the removal of the two-thirds vote requirement to pass the state budget, thereby handing the heavily Democrat state legislature a blank check.  Essentially, Prop 25 makes the State of California a one-party state, lending heavily to the far-left.  So this may mean some good news for the millions of citizens and illegal aliens living in California, who may see expanded funding for their food stamp programs and welfare aid; giving these welfare receipients, more to spend,  while vacationing on the taxpayers dime, in Hawaii, Las Vegas, and on cruises, and more nights on the town at the local strip clubs and indian casinos.  More details on this shocking practice can be found at Article 1, Article 2, and Article 3. My prediction is that the State of California, within 1 - 2 years, will be asking the Federal Government for a huge financial bailout.  As the fiscal conditions and economy of this State worsens, more and more businesses, and conservative taxpayer,  will be exiting the State, leaving only those desiring to continue to live off of the "MAN".

Source: Human Events -- Editor's note: The Unions own the democrat politicians in the State of California.  In the event that Jerry Brown gets elected as the next Governor of this State, it is going to be all over for the business community and taxpayers in the State, with much higher taxes and more regulation on businesses.  And knowing Jerry Brown, he will go begging to the Obama Administration and ask for a bail out.  As Rush Limbaugh says, "Don't Doubt Me".

State of California CALTrans Spends $175,000 To Move a Bush
Source: San Francisco Chronicles -- the cost of moving the bush in January came to $175,000 - $140,000 to dig up and move the shrub, and $35,000 for "support" services from geological, botanical and climate experts in preparation for its new home in the Presidio less than a mile away.  Editor's note: I wonder if the "support services" included psychological counseling for the bush since it suffered tramua due to being moved?

California Welfare Cards Can Be Used in Many Casino ATMs
Synopsis:  The cards, provided by the Department of Social Services to help recipients feed and clothe their families, work in automated teller machines at 32 of 58 tribal casinos and 47 of 90 state-licensed poker rooms.  Source: Los Angeles Times  Editor's note: This is yet another fine example of how inept government is, and the sheer waste that occurs at the State and Federal levels.  With the State of CA facing a budget deficit of $19 billion dollars (story here) and the State Assembly Democats majority have "two plans – one to borrow billions and the other to raise taxes and shift some programs to counties".  Its a wonder that any businesses or working tax paying citizens still remain in this Far-Left coast State.  Perhaps the State of Arizona should offer any illegal aliens comprehended,  a choice of jail or a one way bus ticket to San Francisco.  They'll have an opportunity to use their State of CA issued welfare cards for gambling money at one of the Indian casinos in the Bay Area.
